Why is it called English Bites?
Because the questions I put on Instagram are bite-size, meaning small. And because "It bites" is a more polite way to say "It sucks", so it basically means "English sucks". Yeah, I know it isn't that clever, but I'm open to suggestions.
What does FAQs stand for?
It stands for Frequently Asked Questions, which is ironic here because no-one's actually asked them. But NAQs (Never Asked Questions) isn't a thing, so there.
What does "so there" mean? Because if I translate it directly into my language it makes no sense.
Stop using Google to translate things. Use a proper dictionary. And if it doesn't explain it clearly in your dictionary, then your dictionary sucks. So there.
Why does this website look like shit?
Because I've never made a blog before and I'm not very computer-literate. So it's a work-in-progress that will get better when I learn how to do it. Plus it's free.
What is the point of this blog?
I was bored. And I believe this blog will give me the exposure to get lots of work and grow rich and fat on the proceeds. If someone learns something from it, that's a bonus.
What does 'deluded' mean?
Fuck off.
Why are you swearing so much?
Because I've been a classroom teacher for a long time and it's liberating to not worry about being fired for using bad language. And because I suspect very few people will read this. It's the warm cover of anonymity provided by the internet.
I don't understand English that well so I don't understand these FAQs.
That's not a question, it's a statement. Go take some English lessons. Or just Google Translate it. Goddamn Google Translate is killing my profession.
